A total of 19 petitions are up for signing, ranging from inserting in the constitution a provision against mandatory covid vaccination to recognition of endometriosis as a chronic disease, and cannabis legalisation.

The petition which has garnered the most signatures in the first day of this recent batch of submissions is one regarding covid-19 vaccines. It calls for a resolution of the Council of Europe to be inserted in the constitution. The resolution intends “to ensure that citizens are informed that vaccination is not compulsory and that no one is under political, social or other type of pressure to be vaccinated, if he or she does not wish to do so personally.” This petition comes a day after , allowing employers to make CovidCheck mandatory at the workplace.

in Luxembourg already surpassed the threshold of 4,500 signatures required for it to be debated by lawmakers.

Another petition which has received some attention so far calls for endometriosis, a chronic disease affecting one in ten women, to be recognised as a long-term disabling disease. The illness relates to the presence of tissue similar to the lining of the uterus outside the uterus. The condition can cause great pain and can even be immobilising in some cases. The petition also calls for better care and more awareness regarding endometriosis as it affects girls and women from an early age.

Legal recreational use of cannabis was also on the agenda for other petition signees.  The legalisation of the most used illegal substance in the grand duchy was part of the DP-LSAP-Déi Gréng coalition's plans but . Health minister Paulette Lenert cited obstacles in terms of European legislation back in September. But this petition seems to be aimed at reminding the Parliament of the coalition’s project.
