The new development of Place de Paris in Luxembourg City was inaugurated on Saturday 26 June in the presence of the college of burgomasters and aldermen of the City of Luxembourg, the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Mobility and Public Works, François Bausch, and the Managing Director of Luxtram, André von der Marck.

The redevelopment was carried out by Luxtram and took into account the results of the citizen participation process conducted by the City of Luxembourg.

The square is decorated with 18 plane trees and a dry fountain. Several public benches allow people to stop and rest around the square, and cafés and restaurants invite people to have a drink on the terrace and enjoy the new design. The new square is also a venue for local festivities and the new weekly market, the "Garer Maart", which will be held every Thursday from 7.30 a.m. to 2 p.m. starting on 8 July.
