Music fans have good cause to look forward to late summer this year after den Atelier announced the line-up for its Pond Eclectic urban concert series. Hosted in the beautiful setting of the Kirchberg park amphitheatre, the festival is jointly organized with the Coque and Lemon Event Support. With covid restrictions now lifted, the venue has a capacity of 2,000 in a mixed seated and standing configuration.
The series launches on Sunday 4 September with a matinee performance in German of Peppa Pig live. Then in the evening of the same day the festival hosts its opening party with the Ultraschall Collective and a programme of local and international DJs and a lightshow.
The first concert on 5 September features songwriter and composer Yann Tiersen, whose work was most famously used for the soundtrack to French film Le Fabuleux Destin d'Amélie Poulain.

The following day Australian singer-songwriter Tash Sultana, whose unique multi-instrument talent and vocal range stretching over 5 octaves has won plaudits from the critics and gained a cult following. Using loops to incorporate keyboards, bass, /percussion, sampling, beatboxing, trumpet, saxophone, flute, mandolin, oud, harmonica, lap steel and panpipes Tash Sultana’s performances are quite unique.
Scottish-born, Manchester-raised singer-songwriter Tom Walker brings his sound to the amphitheatre on 7 September. His hit Leave a Light On was very popular on Ara City Radio back in the day and latest hit Serotonin comes from his much-anticipated second album.
German DJ wizard Fritz Kalkbrenner, whose style now transcends house, techno and pop, rounds off the festival on 9 September.
