The Luxembourg-based tableware specialist is optimistic about its outlook for the remainder of the year.

After a difficult year for the hospitality sector, things are looking up for RAK Porcelaine Europe. Based in Bettembourg, the European operation of the parent company headquarted in the United Arab Emirates specialises in the crafting, manufacturing and supply of quality tableware.

This year it has struck deals with hotel and restaurant chains in Spain and the UK. It will supply some 200,000 pieces to the Paradores Hotels chain by the end of 2021 and has a contract for a total of 1.8 million pieces over four years. In the UK, Whitbread Group’s restaurants have signed up to buy a total of 290,000 items of RAK Porcelain products.

At a local level, managing director Claude Peiffer says the company is also committed to helping the local hospitality sector. “After helping our customers during the covid period, we will, with the contribution of our 70 employees and shareholders, continue our activities for the benefit of hoteliers and restaurateurs who have suffered another setback with the recent torrential rains,” he said.

In a revamp of the management team, Peiffer is joined by executive director Mariella Di Giambattista, freshly appointed international sales director Letizia Moes-Heinen, marketing director Bertrand Lecante, who has moved up from his role as marketing manager, and IT director Vincent Matthieu.

In addition to its previously announced diamond level sponsorship of the Luxembourg pavilion at Dubai 2020, Peiffer is looking forward to the company’s presence at SIRHA, the world’s leading event for the hotel, restaurant and food industry, held in Lyon from 23 to 27 September 2021. “This five-day ‘Food Service’ event is a unique way for RAK Porcelaine Europe to meet business partners, chefs and restaurateurs, who will be visiting for the Bocuse d’or competition.”
