The organisers of the Discover Luxembourg rally have confirmed that the event will take place on 11 September. It will raise money for the Ilula Orphan Program in Tanzania.

An annual highlight of the so-called “rentrée”, Discover Luxembourg is a walking rally for teams of four through the capital during which participants take on various challenges and learn something new about the city.

Following the postponement of last year’s event due to covid restrictions, this year’s Discover Luxembourg has finally been confirmed for Saturday 11 September and will respect the Luxembourg government's current guidelines and regulations concerning physical distancing and hygiene. Personal hand sanitisers will be made available to all teams.

The 6.25km course will start and finish in the Parc Pescatore, taking teams around Limpertsberg and avoiding the city centre. As usual, teams will stop at several event stations to complete tasks that challenge participants’ physical and mental skills. They will also be asked to answer questions on observation and take selfies at specific landmarks. Stations this year are sponsored by Enovos, Vodafone Procurement, Kerry Luxembourg and Home from Home.

Registration is now open () though the event is limited to 50 teams this year. Teams are encouraged to wear colour-coordinating t-shirts or, for those who have participated in past events, matching Discover Luxembourg t-shirts.

The prize giving ceremony will take place online to avoid the congregation of too many people. As a result, teams will not have to wait around for all groups to finish.

Each year the event raises between €500 and €1,000 for charity. This year it supports the Ilula Orphan Program in Tanzania, which provides opportunities for quality education, counselling, and socio-economic empowerment for the country’s most vulnerable children.
