The first stretch of a new road between the Buchler bridge in the Gare district to the Lycée technique in Bonnevoie is set to open on 31 July.

The roadworks form part of plans to bring the tram to Bonnevoie and establish a public transport hub at the Lycée technique where users can switch between tram, bus and bike to connect to their onwards destinations.

The first stretch of the new N3 between the Buchler bridge and the Rue de Neufchâteau in Bonnevoie will open on Sunday in the afternoon. Once completed, the road will take drivers to Howald and the Cloche d’Or district.

This should help alleviate traffic on the Route de Thionville, which runs from Bonnevoie through Howald down to Hesperange.

The tram earlier in July began test runs to Bonnevoie and is set to launch the new route to the Lycée technique in September.
