Hungarian born singer-songwriter Kinga Rose, whose name derives from a mix of her first name (Kinga) and stage name (Rose), is no stranger in Luxembourg’s music scene. The artist has performed live concerts and made a series of radio performances over the last two years, both in Luxembourg and Hungary.
In 2020, Kinga was inducted as a member of the Grund Club Luxembourg and began the pre-production of her debut album titled Vision, under the executive production of Lata Gouveia and Charles Stoltz. The record features collaborations with reputable musical arrangers and musicians in Luxembourg including Ivan Boumans, Pol Belardi, Ernie Hammes, Anik Schwall, and Sarah Candle.
Vision follows the release of Kinga’s first three singles--If I Can't Breathe, Weeping Willow and more recently How Else--which make up part of the album and are already available on Spotify, YouTube and other platforms. In addition, there are seven new tracks that she says feature equally dynamic and very relatable lyrics.
Although the songs were all written before the pandemic, in 2018 and 2019, Kinga explains the inspiration behind some of the tracks reflect several perspectives in life and some very relatable situations that many of us go through.
“We were waiting for the best moment. Funny enough, the songs are a lot more current right now than when I wrote them. Today it is even more relevant [for people] to have these new passions and changes in their work or jobs. Or even moving to places you’ve always wanted to go and not to be stuck in a particular situation,” she explained.
While she endorses listening to all the songs on the album, she particularly recommends How Else, which came out on 21 January.
“I really like the last single that came out. It is kind of an encouragement for everybody to go ahead and do certain things they may have held back on in the past.”
The classically trained pianist and singer also studied Jazz singing at the Etud Conservatory in Hungary. She currently studies Jazz piano at the Luxembourg City Conservatory.
The album will be released under the German-based record label--Timezone Records--on 25 February.
