With 229 registrations, the “Colours of Japan: Nature, Design, Food” reached full capacity and raised €8,000. The funds are for Arcus, a youth and family nonprofit.
The money raised will provide approximately 130 hours of animal-assisted therapy for the children and teenagers residing at Kannerheiser, a specialised facility for young people, stated Rotary Club Luxembourg. This year’s sum is a substantial increase from the €4,500 collected for the same cause last year.
The event provided an enriching cultural exploration of Japan: a talk given by professor Rossella Menegazzo delved into the complex relationship between colour, nature and design in Japanese culture, while attendees also enjoyed a tasting of five types of sake and a meal featuring ten Japanese dishes.
The evening was graced by the presence of esteemed guests, including deputy prime minister and minister of health (LSAP); minister of finance (DP); Japanese ambassador to Luxembourg ; and Luxembourg City alderwoman (DP).
