The former EY auditor succeeds Mark Rigolle, who served as interim CFO for one year following the departure of Marc Schroeder.

Luxair CEO has confirmed the recruitment of Sara Macedo as CFO of Luxair Group. 

Macedo previously worked at EY Luxembourg for eight years, where she served as an auditor from 2014 to 2022. In parallel, she also taught as an adjunct professor in the master's programme in accounting and auditing at the University of Luxembourg.

Sara Macedo succeeds Mark Rigolle, who served as interim CFO for one year. The airline had been searcging for a permanent appointment since ,

Rigolle has returned to the space industry by accepting the position of Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Rivada Space Networks.

The arrival of Macedo is just the latest high-level recruitment by Luxair group. In September, the airline announced the arrival of Matthieu Cisowski to head up human resources following the departure of Michaël Labarsouque to take up "new challenges".

Last September, Luxair vice president and head of LuxairTours  retired. The day-to-day management of LuxairTours has since been handled by its three other vice presidents Peter Vermeulen, Olivier Lamoral and Olivier Orlando.
