Luxembourg-based satellite operator SES announced the appointment of John-Paul Hemingway in the newly created position of chief strategy and product officer, aiming for a leaner management structure.

Joining the senior leadership team, Hemingway will be charged with translating SES’s corporate vision into strategic action networks and video services. His newly created position of chief strategy and product officer will bring together multiple functions, eliminating the role of SES Networks CEO. The aim of this restructuring is to create a leaner and more customer-oriented management with sales reporting directly to the CEO of SES, Steve Collar.

“2022 is a pivotal year for SES as we launch the infrastructure that will grow and develop our business for the next decade. JP at the helm of our growth strategy and as a partner to our sales teams will be an integral part of our success,” said Collar in a press release.

Hemingway’s responsibilities regarding the company’s networks and video markets will include managing strategic partnerships, a portfolio of solutions as well as space and network assets.

The new appointment comes after SES’s US branch announced the alongside Luxembourg’s GovSat, underlining its aspirations for growth and development.
