“The woman that inspired me most is my mom, who unfortunately passed away on an early age from Alzheimer’s disease, in November 2018,” says Strotz.
“To me, she remains one of the strongest women I’ve ever known, who never aimed for recognition but just did what she felt had to be done to continuously encourage me and to make me feel really special. She was a normal, middle-class, full-time working woman, raising a child, taking on additional jobs to finance my education and set the baseline for a good future,” she tells Delano.
“Despite many challenges along the years, I never heard her complain. Even at the worst times, she just smiled at me and made me feel comfortable and loved. Until the end, she showed strength, prepared me for life, taught me a lot of values and finally formed the person I am today. She is my hero, one of the strongest women I have ever known.”
