Every two years, Luxembourg takes part in the Venice Architecture Biennale with an exhibition in the Luxembourg pavilion in the Arsenale. This year, following a call for projects and the decision of a jury, it is the “Sonic Investigations” project that is being produced, curated by Valentin Bansac, Mike Fritsch and Alice Loumeau with Ludwig Berger and Peter Szendy. Culture minister (DP) travelled to Venice to open the exhibition on 8 May. More than 200 guests were also present.
“Sonic Investigations” is an immersive proposition that investigates the role of sound in our perception of physical spaces. The exhibition invites us to close our eyes and actively listen. Both practical and theoretical research, the project is a means of examining the territory of Luxembourg, a significant case study for global paradigms in spatial planning, where the sounds of biological, geological and anthropogenic entities blend into the complex soundscape of the Anthropocene.

Collective.’ By looking at how acoustic perception influences our awareness of space, the pavilion proposes new ways of apprehending, inhabiting and designing our environments, whether natural or built,” comments culture minister Thill.
For the third consecutive year, Kultur | lx - Arts Council Luxembourg curated the Luxembourg Pavilion, in collaboration with the Luxembourg Center for Architecture (Luca).
The Pavillon du Luxembourg will be at the Arsenale (Sale d’Armi, 1st floor) until 23 November. .
