Sources Rosport S.A., an independent and privately owned Luxemburgish company, produces natural mineral waters as well as refreshing drinks for the Luxemburgish market. Its strategy is based on delivering the healthiest and natural drinks by respecting thoroughly the ecological footprint left during the production and selling processes.

Founded in 1959, Sources Rosport produces natural mineral waters, marketed under following brands: Rosport Classic, carbonated; Rosport Blue lightly carbonated and Rosport Viva, still mineral water. Since 2012, Rosport Pom’s, a mix of sparkling mineral water and apple juice is completing the range. Lately, Rosport mat and Rosport Sunny have joined the assortment and are being offered as alternative refreshments drinks with low or no calories.

Since the 70’s, Rosport has taken the decision, based on eco-responsible considerations, to sell their products exclusively on the Luxemburgish market, and therefore, reduce the transportation from the production unit to the consumer to a strict minimum. Furthermore, most of the raw material suppliers, be it labels, PET bottles, caps, are being sourced from Luxemburgish suppliers, reducing here as well the transportation from these materials to a strict minimum. Whenever a raw material is not available on the Luxemburgish Market, Rosport is looking for suppliers that have production facilities in the Greater region.

Since more than 60 years, Sources Rosport has been on the forefront of ecological behavior, be it in implementing and fine tuning their production processes or in the choice for eco-responsible packaging. Besides these, product quality has all along of the long history, been a major attention point. Both, ecological and responsible processes combined with qualitative focus has gained Sources Rosport ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certifications. Since 2011, Rosport also is granted ERS label, by INDR and the efforts undertaken in workforce security is awarded with the OHSAS 18001 certification.

Since many years, continuous reduction of carbon emissions is one of the main goals that Rosport is pursuing year after year. When the Luxemburgish Company invested in 2006 in a new PET production line, all the PET bottles underwent a complete redesign and savings of approximately 37 tons of plastic in the first year of the market launch were counted.

In a second step to even further reduce the usage of non-renewable fossil resources, Rosport gradually increased the recycled material part in their bottles from 25% rPET to 50% rPET, followed by strong innovations like the Rosport Classic PET bottle composed of 75% rPET and 25% Bio PET. The launch of the new Rosport Sunny PET bottle in 2020, is the first bottle made entirely of recycled PET bottles, and the start of the transition period that will lead to a 100% range of bottles made of recycled or Bio PET.

Nevertheless, Rosport is continuously investing in their returnable glass bottles to respond to market demand. No question that in the last years, demand for returnable glass containers has strongly risen, and in order to offer this packaging to their clients and consumers, Rosport is investing in new bottles on a yearly basis, assuring that their containers always comes in the safest and impeccable glass. Those glass bottles that have reached their life span are being recycled through specialized companies and transformed into new glass containers. A perfect example of circularity.
