One, and two, and soon three! Relatively discreet since its arrival in Luxembourg, Sports Direct will be opening a third outlet in Luxembourg, in the premises vacated by Maisons du monde in July 2023, on Avenue de la Gare. This will be right next to Foot Locker, which also specialises in sporting goods.

Sports Direct is one of the flagship brands of the British Frasers Group, which announced a 13.1% rise in adjusted pre-tax profit to £544.8m in the year to 28 April 2024, despite a fall in revenues, as it continues to drive its “lift strategy.”

“This has been a pivotal year for Frasers’ future growth. We have expanded our retail ecosystem by forging valuable partnerships with new brands. Our brand relationships have never been stronger, providing invaluable support as we continue the international expansion of our business,” Frasers CEO Michael Murrays said in the spring when its annual results were presented.

The shop is due to open in early December. It is one of the two big names mentioned by the alderman of the City of Luxembourg, (DP).
