One of the most popular cocktails in recent years, the Spritz, is getting a Luxembourg touch thanks to the startup Opyos Beverages.

The company officially launched Lët’z Spritz last week, a liqueur from the bitters family made from an infusion of citrus fruits and natural flavours. Guaranteed without artificial colourings or flavourings, the product is adorned with a hint of saffron, while on the palate there are marked orange notes.

After gin and pastis

A must in Italy, the Spritz has become increasingly popular in Europe in recent years, and Opyos Beverages intends to ride the wave. The company already has the local gin brand Opyos in its portfolio, which was recently developed into a gin/coffee liqueur, and Pastis de Luxembourg.

The Lët’z Spritz has an alcohol content of 15%, compared with 11% for the leading transalpine brand. Its designers recommend a lower dosage in cocktails and even propose a 100% local recipe by mixing Lët'z Spritz with Luxembourg Crémant instead of the traditional Prosecco.

“The development and production of Lët’z Spritz is indeed local, and by using a Luxembourg Crémant in the preparation of your Spritz, you are supporting local winegrowing,” say its creators Michel Schammel, Jim Wagener and Fränk Wagner.

To make their project a reality, they benefitted from the support of La Provençale, which took care of marketing. Their product is available in all Luxembourg distribution channels at a recommended retail price of €28,80 per bottle.
