The publishers of Luxembourg’s oldest newspaper have changed brands to from St Paul to Mediahuis Luxembourg, just days after the firm’s move to new offices in Howald.

The Luxembourg Times (which is published by Mediahuis) and report that the board of directors of the company that publishes the Luxemburger Wort approved the change on Friday. At the same meeting, they approved Martine Reicherts as new chairwoman.

Reicherts is a former European Commissioner, who served as the European Union’s director-general for education, youth, sport and culture.

In April 2020, Belgian media giant Mediahuis bought the Luxembourg publishing house. The publisher had previously been owned by Lafayette, a group that manages the assets of the Archdiocese of Luxembourg.

As well as the Wort and Luxembourg Times, the house publishes a French-language version of the Wort as well as a Portuguese edition, Contacto and weekly TV listings guide magazine Télécran.

The firm recently left the city, moving from its Gasperich office to a new space in Howald.
