At a time when digital transformation has become a strategic priority for businesses, the Grow with Google programme, deployed in Luxembourg by the House of Training, offers practical support to SMEs in developing the skills they need to evolve.

Accelerating digitisation

Digitalisation is an opportunity for businesses that want to be innovative. However, SMEs are not fully equipped with advanced digital technologies.

According to the European Commission's report on the state of the digital decade published last July, although the population of the Grand Duchy has a good level of basic digital skills at 60.1%, compared with 55.6% in the European Union.

The same report reveals that only 52% of businesses in Luxembourg use advanced technologies such as the cloud, artificial intelligence or data analysis, compared with the European average of 54.6%. The aim is to reach 75% by 2030.

Given this situation, the House of Training has decided to take action as part of its mission to have a concrete and measurable impact on the development of digital skills in Luxembourg companies. By identifying the current and future challenges of the labour market, it guides managers and their employees in their development by designing training programmes and plans tailored to their needs.

A tailored-made programme for SMEs

The Grow with Google workshops offer free training on topics essential to digital transformation, such as optimising social networks, online referencing and using digital channels. These courses meet the essential needs of all SMEs, particularly in terms of boosting their visibility.

Organised mainly in French, but also in English and German, these workshops, which combine face-to-face and distance learning formats, are delivered by experts who help SMEs tackle digital issues with practical solutions tailored to their business, giving them the tools they need to innovate and adapt to market changes.

By working closely with the House of Entrepreneurship, the House of Training is fostering synergies to maximise the impact of the Grow with Google training courses.

A measurable impact

Since the launch of the programme in September 2023, the results speak for themselves: more than 3,100 registrations, 35 workshops organised and 13 expert trainers mobilised.

This programme is a tailor-made response to the digitalisation challenges faced by SMEs. It enables them to acquire key skills to boost their competitiveness and their ability to innovate in a digitally-oriented environment.

An opportunity for resilience and competitiveness

A well-digitised SME is better equipped to face tomorrow’s challenges. The Grow with Google programme not only imparts technical skills, but also transforms the way businesses operate and are organised. This strengthens their long-term resilience and competitiveness.

By taking part in this programme, SMEs can acquire fundamental digital skills and identify concrete solutions for seizing the opportunities offered by digitalisation.
