The board of directors of Degroof Petercam on 20 December announced the appointment of Sylvie Huret as CEO of Degroof Petercam, subject to the approval of the European Central Bank.

The board of directors of Degroof Petercam on 20 December 2024 decided to co-opt  as CEO of Bank Degroof Petercam. Her appointment is subject to the approval of the European Central Bank. Currently head of Degroof Petercam Asset Services in Luxembourg, Huret succeeds , whose performance at the head of the bank was praised by the board and who will step down at the end of the year.

Huret joined Petercam in 1994, after a career at the bar and in auditing with PWC. She held a number of key positions within the group, notably in management control, fund administration and risk management. In 2010, she became a partner, CFO and member of the executive committee. After the merger between Degroof and Petercam, she took on the role of general secretary of the group before joining the Luxembourg subsidiary, first as CFO of Banque Degroof Petercam Luxembourg, then as CEO of Degroof Petercam Asset Services. She joined the group executive committee in 2023.

Subject to approval from the ECB, the board also decided to submit to the next general shareholders’ meeting in 2025 the appointment of Jean-Christophe Droguet as deputy CEO and member of the management board of Bank Degroof Petercam. Droguet is currently head of audit at Indosuez Group.

The board also took note of the decision of the current chairman of Degroof Petercam, Gilles Samyn, to hand in his mandate at the end of the general meeting scheduled for May 2025, and renewed its confidence in him as chairman of the bank until that date and as a member of the new management team.
