It is these long-forgotten experiences that Maurice Ravel and Nicolaï Rimsky-Korsakov seek to awaken in us with two works that are as delightful as they are rarely performed. In the first, the French composer flips through the pages of an ancestral oriental storybook, the Arabian Nights, while his Russian counterpart drags us into the imaginary world, sometimes dark, sometimes bright, of his native land.
Intrigued? You’re welcome to experience to those two fascinating worlds on 05.05 at the Philharmonie. Under the baton of maestro Jérémie Rohrer, the musicians of the Luxembourg Philharmonic Orchestra will turn into wordless storytellers for an evening.
And if you’re hungry for more enchantment after the magic of the Arabian nights and that of the mysterious Russian steppes, then the second part of the concert holds a special, philosophical twist in store for you with Richard Strauss' symphonic masterpiece, Also sprach Zarathustra.
