Interior minister Taina Bofferding has tested positive for Sars-CoV-2, the government said on Monday in a press statement.

Bofferding is fully vaccinated and not experiencing any symptoms, the ministry said. She is continuing to work remotely.

The minister, who is also minister for equality between women and men, tested positive via a self-test and is waiting for confirmation of the result by a PCR test.

Bofferding isn’t the first member of government to contract the coronavirus, after Xavier Bettel (DP), Henri Kox, Claude Turmes and Sam Tanson (Déi Gréng) have previously tested positive.

Other politicians, such as member of parliament Claude Wiseler (CSV), also reported being infected last year.
