The first edition of TN’Teens organised by TechSense will take place on 31 March at Les Terres Rouges in Esch-sur-Alzette. The event aims to hone the digital skills of high schoolers and serves as a platform for exchanges and interactions.

About 150 high school students are expected to come together for a day of tech workshops to gain more insights into coding, design thinking, blockchain and cybersecurity. However, the program which was specifically designed for young people also includes recreational activities, food trucks, virtual reality stands and a quiz game with prizes to be won by the five best participants. For example, a trip sponsored by Luxair, laptops, phones and more are up for grabs.

The aim of the event is to promote the interest and participation of youths in technology and digital fields. “Luxembourg needs talents in the field of technology, people who can code and are vast in artificial intelligence. The key idea is to make the field attractive at an early stage to young people, and also expand their talents and skills, especially among girls who remain underrepresented in tech,” says Kamel Amroune, CEO of The Dots and founder of TechSense.

Following the workshops in the morning, slots have been provided for speeches and discussions with speakers already popular with younger audiences to make the program more fun and engaging for the participants.

These include gamer and YouTube sensation with two million followers Bob Lennon, and BatFlunch, who specialises in prank videos on YouTube with over two million views. Teen influencers and tech specialists at Workshop4me, Leo and Avanti Sharma, will also make an appearance.

“Imagine if someone attends the event, learns the basics of cyber security and then decides to become a cybersecurity expert, or learns about blockchain and chooses to make a profession out of this in the future as an entrepreneur… then we would have succeeded,” adds Amroune.

TN'Teens is supported by Luxembourg Stock Exchange, Orange, SnT and Ville d'Esch, and benefits from the support of Bee Secure, CSSF, Kinepolis, The LHoFT, Luxair, Luxembourg Blockchain Lab, Luxlait, the Ministry of Education, Children and Youth, National Youth Service, Opderschmelz, Photobooth, Scienteens Lab, SecurityMadeIn.Lu, SNJ, Workshop4Me and Xantor.

A second edition is expected to take place next year.
