Ten Luxembourg-based startups have been selected to pitch their companies to a jury in a bid to make it to the next phase of the Startup World Cup. They will present at EY Luxembourg on Thursday 22 May 2025, and the winner will head to San Francisco to continue the competition. 

Luxinnovation, the Luxembourg House of Financial Technology (Lhoft), the Luxembourg Business Angel Network (LBAN), Technoport, the University of Luxembourg Incubator, Startup Luxembourg, the Luxembourg City Incubator and Le Village by CA have made their selection of ten startups to compete for a “golden ticket” to Silicon Valley. They are:

Moveme: a digital platform that simplifies onboarding and relocation for international professionals and students;

Augment: a company that uses “digital twin” technology simplify facility management and improve operational efficiency;

Silcube Financial Systems Oy: an AI-powered portfolio management system for private debt professionals that aims to transform loan origination, borrower monitoring, reporting and valuation;

Maic: an AI-powered automation platform for hotels that aims to reduce labour costs and increase revenue;

Essembl: a personal fashion advisor powered by artificial intelligence;

RMT Labs: a company that offers an AI-powered platform to revitalise the IT recruitment industry, an AI recruitment model and 100 AI recruitment assistants;

Elora: a startup that enables businesses to create a custom AI-powered receptionist that can handle questions and schedule meetings;

Organotherapeutics: a company that develops advanced models for complex diseases and aims to accelerate the development of therapeutics for neurogenerative disorders;

OQ Technology: a 5G direct-to-direct satellite operator that aims to connect remote and rural areas; and

Exobiosphere: the company focusses on developing cures from space, proposing an autonomous drug screening lab in space.

The ten companies will be present during the final hosted by EY Luxembourg on 22 May 2025 in Kirchberg. Following jury deliberations, the winner will be revealed during the event and will have the chance to represent the grand duchy in the next round of the Startup World Cup in San Francisco. In California, they’ll compete against other candidates for the prize of $1m.

Organised by the venture capital firm Pegasus Tech Ventures, the Startup World Cup is an international competition that aims to connect startup ecosystems around the world. Videobot, a Finnish-Luxembourg startup that offers customers an interactive video experience, was the winner of the Luxembourg regional round in 2024.
