This weekend is all about discovery. Enjoy free museums during the day or at night throughout Luxembourg and in neighbouring countries, a spring market in the capital’s city centre and open-air golf lessons. Whether you’re curious, a bargain hunter or a sportsman, there’s plenty to do.

Luxembourg Museum Days. This weekend, almost 40 museums in the grand duchy are opening their doors free of charge as part of Luxembourg Museum Days 2025. A unique opportunity to discover the country’s rich cultural heritage through varied collections, special events and activities for young and old alike. From the Mudam to the Villa Vauban, without forgetting the regional museums, each is offering a programme to suit all ages. A festive, family-friendly event, organised to mark International Museum Day.

Stroossemaart. The street market returns to Luxembourg’s city centre for a weekend of bargains. Designers, shopkeepers and artisans take to the streets with fashion, decor and unique pieces. Special offers, a festive atmosphere and spring shopping are on the programme.

National Golf Days. For the first time, the Luxembourg world of golf is opening up to the general public with a whole weekend of free introductory activities, family games and events for all. Five clubs in remarkable natural settings will welcome the curious and the passionate alike to discover a sport that is accessible, intergenerational and good for your health. As well as supervised introductory sessions, visitors will be able to enjoy special menus, putting competitions, equipment demonstrations and even a raffle.

Luxembourg Urban Garden 2025. For six months, this open-air exhibition will transform the cities of Luxembourg and Ettelbruck into a huge garden for urban experimentation. Between art installations, enchanted greenhouses, ecological huts and city farms, each location offers a new way of thinking about urban space. This weekend, look out for seed, compost, watercolour and photo workshops, as well as a plant fair and a poetry walk. .

Mini-Bazar 2025. This weekend, the City Concorde is hosting the Mini-Bazar, a sneak peek of the big event in November. Around 15 stalls from all over the world will be offering culinary specialities, accessories, books and handicrafts. All profits will be donated to humanitarian projects.

Prima Facie. In this powerful monologue by Suzie Miller, Tessa, a brilliant lawyer from a modest background, sees her career turned upside down after a night of violence. Forced to question her profession and her system, she becomes the voice of a struggle against biased justice. An intense, topical play about violence against women. .

Reality Check. As part of European Photography Month, this group exhibition brings together six artists who use photography to explore traces of the past and the memory of places. Between family archives, ruins, landscapes and animal imprints, each project questions our way of perceiving reality. Opens Friday 16 May at 6pm.

New Beginning. Between immersive theatre, visual art and sound poetry, “New Beginning” takes us into a magical forest, a metaphor for a changing world. Conceived by British artist David Shearing and brought to life by the Variable Matter collective, this sensory show blends spectacular video projections, enveloping sounds and poetic text to question our deep ties with nature. Staged with the participation of young people from Luxembourg, it invites us to reflect on who we are, and who we could become, in a world in crisis.

Ballroom. In a truck transformed into a miniature stage, juggler Stijn Grupping reinvents juggling by letting the balls follow their own choreography. Without words, but with millimetre precision, this fascinating show combines movement, rhythm and surprise, for young and old from 6 years.

Abstract Expressions. Galerie Indépendance pays tribute to Olivier Dassault, a man of many lives and a passionate photographer. The exhibition reveals some forty images with bold compositions, where light, colour and architecture meet in a deeply personal vision. .

Festive launch of the Hybrid Futures: Rhizomes, Meshworks and Alter-Ecologies exhibition, which explores the links between living things and technology through works rooted in contemporary thought. The exhibition features immersive creations combining art, ecology and digital innovation. Meet the artists and enjoy a guided tour, drinks and snacks.

Culture Forest Festival. The open-air festival in Esch-sur-Alzette is back for its fifth edition and promises, once again, to make the Parc Clair-Chêne vibrate to the rhythm of Luxembourg talent. From pop to soul, punk-rock to reggae, rap to folk, six groups and artists--including Marcy, Tali, De Läb and Schëppe Siwen--will be offering an eclectic and festive musical journey. An unmissable event to celebrate music, nature... and spring.

Atmosphera x We Are XO: Rafa Barrios. Spanish tech house maestro Rafa Barrios arrives in Luxembourg for the first time. Take on the Kirchberg! Dive into the military history of the Kirchberg district with a guided tour of the old fortifications, remnants of a strategic past that has been gone since 1867. An immersive tour in the footsteps of Vauban to discover a little-known part of Luxembourg. Participants should be equipped with suitable clothing, sturdy shoes and a flashlight.

City Visions. A fun and interactive dive into the evolution of the city of Luxembourg, from yesterday to tomorrow. From 16th century engravings to abstract graffiti, the exhibition offers a visual journey through the many representations of the capital. Young and old are invited to explore the city in a different way, with games, models, stamps, painting stations and a creative studio. It’s an exhibition that is as instructive as it is surprising. .

In Metz

Counting the Rice. Marina Abramović, a major figure in performance art, takes over the Centre Pompidou with Counting the Rice, a participatory work in which visitors are invited to sort rice and lentils in a meditative gesture. This simple action, inspired by the protocols of the Marina Abramović Institute, explores endurance, concentration and introspection.

The Endless Sunday (Dimanche sans fin). For its 15th anniversary, the Centre Pompidou-Metz is taking over all its spaces with The Endless Sunday, a monumental exhibition conceived with Maurizio Cattelan. Through paintings, videos, installations and sculptures, it explores the many faces of Sunday in a sensory and poetic journey inspired by Deleuze’s alphabet.

Foire de Metz. Enjoy thrills and entertainment at the Parc des expositions. Starting this Saturday, more than 200 fairground attractions will take over 60,000 m2 to thrill young and old alike. La Nuit des Musées 2025. This Saturday, museums all over France will be opening their doors at dusk for an exceptional evening. The Petit Palais pays tribute to the “father of haute couture,” Charles Frederick Worth, with an original retrospective presented in collaboration with the Palais Galliera. Mundo Pixar Experience. After winning over audiences in Brazil, Mexico and Spain, the immersive exhibition dedicated to the Pixar universe is coming to Brussels.
