Season opening of LOA 2025. Luxembourg Open Air returns to open the festival season with two days of outdoor electronic celebration. On four stages, more than 40 artists will take to the stage, including John Newman, Topic, Nervo, Biscits, Xenia, Matt Sassari and Toby Romeo. Luxembourg Urban Garden 2025. The open-air exhibition kicks off on 7 May, transforming the cities of Luxembourg and Ettelbruck into a huge urban experimental garden for six months. Between art installations, enchanted greenhouses, ecological huts and city farms, each venue offers a new way of thinking about urban space. This weekend marks the first major highlights: on 10 May, the Luga Festival takes place in Luxembourg City Park, with events, meetings and poetic walks. On 11 May, it’s Ettelbruck's turn to host the Luga Nordstad Festival, with its “Urban Agricultural Trail,” gardens in the city and activities around the agriculture of the future. .

Like A Jazz Machine. Starting this Wednesday evening, Dudelange will be vibrating to the rhythm of jazz with the return of the Like A Jazz Machine festival. For this 13th edition, 18 groups and more than 70 musicians from all over the world take over the CCRD Opderschmelz, Kantin and St Martin church for five days of sound creations, experiments and musical encounters. From Jozef Dumoulin to Chico Freeman, Claire Parsons, Greg Lamy, Veda Bartringer and the Ralph Alessi Trio, the programme combines big names, emerging talents and new projects. A must-see for jazz fans.

City Visions. A fun and interactive dive into the evolution of the city of Luxembourg. From 16th-century engravings to abstract graffiti, the exhibition offers a visual journey through the many representations of the capital. Young and old are invited to explore the city in a different way, with games, models, stamps, painting stations and a creative studio. It’s an exhibition that is as instructive as it is surprising.

Luxembourg Guitar Festival. Now in its fourth year, the festival spans several venues and showcases talent from all over the world. This weekend sees the national competition for young Luxembourg guitarists.

Europe Day 2025. This year, the celebrations are taking place over two days. On 9 May, the Europa Experience in Luxembourg City celebrates its first anniversary with an open day: exhibitions, mini-conferences, quizzes, information stands and a children’s area are on the programme on the premises of the European Parliament. On 10 May, Echternach will be the venue for a popular cross-border festival featuring concerts, entertainment, cultural and culinary stands, with the participation of the city of Trier and the presence of the grand duke. A double opportunity to discover Europe in all its facets.

The Unfinished, the One and the Tragic. Violinist Janine Jansen and conductor Paavo Järvi come together for a sumptuous programme: Beethoven’s Violin Concerto in D major, Op. 61 framed by two major works by Schubert, the “Unfinished” and the “Tragic.” With the Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen, this evening promises a powerful immersion in Germanic Romanticism, with lyricism, intensity and virtuosity.

Fit for your bike 2025. To get the motorcycling season off to a good start, the Driver Training Centre is offering half-day fitness sessions, with practical advice and exercises to get you used to the road again. Organised with the support of a number of institutions, the event raises awareness of road risks and features Triumph motorbike trials.

Europatag in Grevenmacher. To mark Europe Day, the towns of Grevenmacher and Trier are joining forces for a friendly, cross-border celebration. The evening will be punctuated by concerts, vocal ensembles and speeches by the mayors of the two towns, in a musical and symbolic atmosphere, between local folklore and European spirit.

Lët’z Rides. Fans of fine mechanical engineering will be in Leudelange for a major exhibition of vintage cars, motorbikes and tractors (up to 1999). Güner Künier & Egg Idiot. Dark post-punk, lo-fi synth-wave and stage chaos meet at the Rotondes for what promises to be a hair-raising evening. To open the evening, Egg Idiot, a concentrate of uncontrollable punk energy, promises a set as crazy as it is unforgettable.

Musikfestspiele Saar. This year’s festival explores the themes of unity, freedom and diversity, in a season rich in symbols. After a choral opening, Europe Day will be marked by a series of cross-border mini-concerts led by the Dresdner Kammerchor. This weekend, one of the highlights will be a concert by the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, with a programme of French elegance, from Berlioz to Ravel, led by the young cellist Kian Soltani. The festival, which combines large ensembles, unusual formats and immersive experiences, continues until the end of June throughout the Saarland region.
