Google Street View celebrates its 15th anniversary this Wednesday. On the podium of the most-searched Luxembourg locations: the palace, the airport and the cathedral.

Two-hundred-and-twenty billion images in more than 100 countries: that’s the size to which Google Street View has grown. Its photo-snapping cars have travelled more than 16m kilometres, i.e. 400 times around the planet.

Fifteen years after the idea--hatched by Google founder Larry Page--the service continues to attract the curious, especially in Indonesia, the United States and Japan, the three most-visited countries in the world (virtually speaking), while the three most sought-after monuments in the world on Street View are the Tower (United Arab Emirates), the (France) and the (India).

It is now even possible to see images of the same place accumulated over 15 years.

This Wednesday, for its 15th anniversary, the service is publishing the list of the ten most-viewed sites in Luxembourg, as well as the top ten museums.
