Paperjam and Delano are offering ideas for family outings in the greater region this summer. Free or fee-paying, indoors or outdoors, there is something for everyone! Today, we're heading to France for the Saint Sixte castle and its “Irrésixtible” estate.

Linking history and leisure is the aim of the Château Saint Sixte and its Irrésixtible estate in Freistroff (around 30 kilometres west of Thionville). This castle, classified as a historical monument, dates from the 16th century.

The venue can be rented for events, such as weddings or seminars, from May to September. The estate also offers family activities, including a giant corn maze, mini-golf, a barefoot trail, a treasure hunt, pedal go-karting and pedal boating.

Night tours in summer

The castle can also be visited, and there is a restaurant area to relax and refuel. This summer, the Château Saint Sixte’s estate is open late on 13 and 20 August, from 6pm to 9pm. Access to these evenings is by reservation only, as the number of entries is limited.

As of 21 July visitors to the estate must present a health pass (full vaccination schedule or a negative PCR test less than 48 hours old) from the age of 18 (from 30 August also for visitors aged 12 to 17) as well as a form of identity. More information is available on the .
