On Tuesday 14 January 2025, SEI announced the appointment of three new managers in Luxembourg. This decision is part of “the company’s strategic direction to expand its global operations and expertise to drive growth,” the company said in a statement.
Claire Matteucci has been appointed head of custody. With over 20 years of experience in the industry, she was most recently head of custody at Standish Management Luxembourg. In the past, she has held various positions at PWC Luxembourg, including external auditor for undertakings for collective investment in transferable securities (Ucits), alternative investment funds and risk management.
Manuel Martin de Rosales has been appointed conducting officer, responsible for compliance and risk. Prior to joining SEI, he was head of compliance at Brookfield Asset Management and Oaktree Capital Management, where he supported product development and strategy for credit, private equity, real estate, infrastructure and Ucits offerings. He has also held positions in custody, audit and compliance at BNY Mellon and Brown Brothers Harriman.
Laurent Scherer joins SEI as business development director. Prior to joining SEI, he was business development director at Gen II Fund Services. His career has included senior positions in fund administration, custody, manco and alternative investment fund management at BNP Paribas and Apex Group Luxembourg.
The three executives will operate under the supervision of SEI Luxembourg’s managing director, Ian MacWilliams. “We are delighted to welcome Claire, Manuel and Laurent to SEI and to expand our team of world-class talent. The depth and breadth of their expertise will enhance our client service and delivery of solutions to companies domiciling funds in Europe,” he said.
SEI has operational centres in Oaks (Pennsylvania), London, Dublin and Luxembourg. The company provides technology and investment solutions that connect the financial services industry. As at 30 September 2024, SEI managed, advised or administered approximately $1.6trn in assets.
