Three new red light and speed cameras have been installed in Hollerich to improve road safety.

The radars are part of the transport ministry’s plans to detect and limit infractions which saw the The cameras in Hollerich have been installed on Boulevard Dupong, Boulevard Dr. Charles Marx and Route d'Esch. However, it is not known since when they’ve been operational.

Like the red light camera at place de l’Etoile, these new installations will be able to detect speeding and drivers running red lights. The radars are also capable of flashing vehicles from behind and can distinguish between different traffic lanes.

582 cases of motorists running a red light in its first month, with another 476 drivers caught speeding. Each of the 476 cases of speeding led to a €49 fine while none of the offenders received the more severe €145 penalty. No cases of excessive speeding were recorded during that period.
