Déi Gréng is starting a process to modify its statutes in order to allow a national list leader to lead the party in the legislative elections. If the resolution is adopted at the end of February at the congress, a national list leader should be proposed at the end of March.

While  (LSAP) has announced her and he for the legislative elections next Wednesday,  (déi Gréng) had pushed a name on RTL for the Greens: .

The problem is that the statutes of the déi Gréng party do not provide for a national head of list, only two heads of list for each constituency. “We don't have a tradition of a national head of list,” says Greens co-chair .

But this should change in the coming weeks: the party’s executive committee met earlier this week and unanimously decided to set up a procedure for a national list leader to lead the party in the October parliamentary elections. When asked about the same issue, the parliamentary group also unanimously supported such a move.

The two co-presidents of déi Gréng, and Meris Sehovic, have the task of defining this procedure. A resolution will be submitted to the vote of the party’s members at the congress on 25 February to amend the statutes. “The final decision is up to the congress, but we have good arguments, we have the unanimity of the parliamentary group and the executive committee, so we are confident that the members will follow us at the next general assembly,” said Sehovic.

Then, the eight candidates representing the two heads of list in each constituency will be presented in early March. A national head of list, selected from these candidates, will be proposed at the end of March.
