Seven candidates hoping to take power in Luxembourg City’s town hall will discuss hot button issues such as housing, transport and security in the grand duchy’s capital in a roundtable discussion hosted by the Paperjam + Delano Business Club on 4 May.

Residents in communes across the country on 11 June will proceed to the ballot box to elect the next mayor and town council in their municipality.

Many eyes will be on Luxembourg City, the grand duchy’s biggest city by far--with a population of more than 132,000--and the country’s institutional, business, cultural and going-out centre.

From congested roads and a lack of cycling infrastructure to a shortage of affordable housing and growing security concerns--there is plenty for politicians to tackle.

Paperjam and Delano journalists and will quiz incumbent mayor (DP), alongside (CSV), (déi Gréng), (LSAP), Ana Correia da Veiga (déi Lénk), (ADR) and Marie-Marthe Muller (Piraten) on what they hope to achieve in the coming six years.

The roundtable discussion is hosted at the Chamber of Commerce on 4 May from 6.30pm and is streamed live on paperjam.lu and delano.lu. The debate kicks off at 7pm. The event is hosted in French with simultaneous interpretation to English available on site and via the livestream hosted on Delano.lu.
