Unemployment rate falls to 5.7%.

At the end of June, the unemployment rate stood at 5.7%. This is a further monthly decline after the sharp rise in 2020 following the pandemic. The rate stood at 5.9% a month ago.

Unemployment continues to fall after an exceptional rise in 2020, linked to the health crisis. On 30 June 2021, the number of resident jobseekers registered with Adem stood at 16,402.

The unemployment rate calculated by Statec now stands at 5.7%. Compared to last May, the number of jobseekers has fallen by 938. Compared to June 2020, there are 3,474 fewer jobseekers, a drop of 17.5%.

The number of resident jobseekers receiving full unemployment benefit fell by 1,868 or 18.2% year-on-year to 8,368.

During the month of June 2021, 1,969 residents registered for Adem. This is 72 more people than in June 2020, but at that time many people in employment were on short-term work due to the pandemic.

During the month of June, employers reported 3,961 vacancies to Adem. In total, 9,735 jobs were available in the files of the employment agency Adem .
