The biannual motorway tunnel maintenance campaign is to begin on Monday, 14 March and will last until mid-June.

The Roads Administration carries out two such campaigns each year, in spring and autumn. The purpose of the operation, says the government in a press release, is “preventive and curative”, specifically for the safety of equipment. However, it will also oversee the cleaning of tunnel walls, cameras and signalling equipment.

With the aim of reducing the impact on traffic, the maintenance and cleaning of tunnels is to be carried out at night, except for the Markusberg tunnel.

The following tunnels will be affected:

Tunnel Pénétrante Sud

Tunnel Richard Serra

Tunnel Saint-Esprit

Tunnel Stafelter

Tunnel Grouft

Tunnel Howald

Tunnel Cents

Tunnel Frisange

Tunnel Mondorf

Tunnel Markusberg

Tunnel Aessen

Tunnel Colmar-Berg

Tunnel Schieren

Tunnel Micheville

Tunnel Mersch

Tunnel Gousselberg

Tunnel Rond-Point Merl

Tunnel Pétange

Tunnel Biff

Wildlife crossing Rouscht

Tunnel Ehlerange
