Vicky Krieps’ performance in Mathieu Amalric's film Serre-moi fort (Hold me tight) has been recognised as one of the best in a French film over the last twelve months. In the drama, Krieps plays a woman who flees because she cannot bear to be left by those she loves.
The César prize-giving ceremony is scheduled for 25 February, when Krieps will be up against French film stars Leïla Bekhti (for Luxembourg co-production Les Intranquilles), Valérie Lemercier (Aline), Léa Seydoux (France), Valeria Bruni Tedeschi (La Fracture), Virginie Efira (Benedetta) and Laure Calamy (Une Femme du monde).
Les Intranquilles and Le Sommet des Dieux in the mix
As well as the best actress nomination for Leïla Bekhti, Luxembourg co-production Les Intranquilles (samsa film) directed by Joachim Lafosse is also in the running for the best actor prize thanks to Damien Bonnard’s performance. Mélusine Productions also has a nomination in the shape of Sommet des Dieux, directed by Patrick Imbert, which is on the short list of three productions up for the best animated film award.
On 25 February, the ceremony will be presided over by writer and director Danièle Thompson with Antoine de Caunes hosting the ceremony.
