Lagrange, who has worked as an auditor at EY, as chief risk officer with UBS, CFO at Credit Suisse and chief administrative officer with Nomura Bank, has been a member of the ILA board of directors and ILA vice-chair since 2021. She is an ILA-certified director and has been a full-time non-executive director since 2018, noted a press release published by the ILA.
“It’s an honour to succeed Carine who has positioned ILA as a central player for governance in Luxembourg. Working together with the ILA board and executive committee, my priority is to ensure that ILA remains the reference association for all governance matters in Luxembourg and beyond, as well as providing quality services and training to our members,” said Lagrange.
, who has served two two-year terms as chair, the maximum allowed under ILA rules, added, “Over the past four years we have grown our association and fulfilled our role as being the voice of corporate governance in Luxembourg. Membership is up significantly, attracted by the new services and training options we have added. We also adapted our internal organisation and governance to help us better manage this growth.”

Women make up 40% of new board
At its general meeting, the ILA also elected the members of its board of directors for 2023-2024. They are: Virginie Lagrange (chair), Alban Aubree, Julie Becker, David Capocci, Katia Ciesielska, Vincent Decalf, Raphaël Docquier, Marjolijne Droogleever-Fortuyn, Marc Feider, Linda Funck, Justin Griffiths, Anne Kayser, Joachim Kuske (vice-chair), Pierre Margue, Frédéric Mouchel, Emmanuelle Mousel, François Mousel, Garry Pieters, Thomas Seale and Rosa Villalobos.
Monique Bachner and Michèle Eisenhuth, who have been board members for 12 years, reached the maximum number of mandates and have stepped down from the board. John Parkhouse has decided not to stand for re-election, and exiting chair Feipel decided to step down as well.
The ILA, which counts 3000 members, aims to support directors and governance professionals in Luxembourg by providing training sessions, networking opportunities and ways for people to develop their careers.
