Vittoria Faraone and Pol Theisen have been named partner at A&O Shearman in Luxembourg, the law firm announced on Tuesday. In the grand duchy, the firm has also promoted two people to counsel--Matthieu Tourin and Nathaël Malanda--ten people to senior associates and one person to senior legal advisor.

The global law firm A&O Shearman on 22 April 2025 announced the promotion of 33 lawyers to its partnership, including two in Luxembourg: Vittoria Faraone and Pol Theisen. The promotions take effect 1 May 2025.

Faraone, who has been promoted to partner in the funds and asset management department, was admitted to the Luxembourg bar in 2017 and provides advice related to Luxembourg regulated vehicles (Ucits, Part II UCIs, Sifs and Sicars), unregulated investment vehicles (limited partnerships and Raifs) and investing across a variety of asset classes such as private equity, venture capital, private debt, real estate and infrastructure. She joined the firm in November 2017.

Theisen, who first joined the firm in 2013, left in 2022 to work at Lionstone Real Estate Partners. He returned to A&O Shearman in 2023 and has now been named partner in the corporate and M&A department. Admitted to the Luxembourg bar in 2014, Theisen advises on a range of domestic and cross-border M&A transactions, including joint ventures, co-investments, corporate restructurings and refinancings.

A&O Shearman has also promoted two people to counsel in Luxembourg: Nathaël Malanda, who specialises in employment law, and Matthieu Tourin, who advises on domestic and cross-border corporate matters.

Ten people have been named senior associate--Manon Bertolotto (banking and finance), Benjamin Dahan (tax), Tiphanie Frutuoso (tax), Christoph Hanz (funds and asset management), Michel Meyers (litigation and investigations), Clémence Ravier (corporate and M&A), Max Sassel (global financial markets), Roxana Stefanca (funds and asset management), Philippe Storck (banking and finance) and Lena Wanlin (litigation and investigations)--whilst Roman Mazhorov (global financial markets) has been promoted to senior legal advisor.
