Looking for family-friendly outings in the Greater Region? Delano and Paperjam are bringing you day-trip ideas this summer: today, the tree park in Steinfort.

After being closed for three years due to storm damage, a rebuilt Steinfort Adventure reopened in August 2017. The park runs 91 different workshops across its ten ropes courses--and two beginner ropes courses--the highest of which is 11 metres off the ground. Anyone afraid of heights has a chance to overcome their fear, moving from tree to tree.

The beginner courses, nicknamed “monkey” and “tiger”, are accessible for kids as young as four and you must be between 90 and 150cm tall to try them. Minors must be supervised from the ground by an adult, and children aged four to six must be accompanied individually on by an adult (at no extra charge).

Safety is a top priority

On site, there are monkey bridges, Tarzan jumps, zip lines (one of which is 113 metres long), an 11-metre free jump, trolleys and skateboards. The safety of the ropes courses is an essential concern of the park’s management and is based on 13 points. These include the facts that all the operators have successfully completed a training course for their profession and have a first aid certificate; that all the Steinfort Adventure courses are inspected every year by an independent expert who also checks the personal protective equipment; and that the trees supporting the workshops are checked every year by an independent forestry expert.

For those who want to relax with family and friends, the municipality of Steinfort and the adventure park also offer a free public picnic area along the cycle path, close to the ropes courses. If you are in a group and spending the day at Steinfort Adventure, you can contact the park reception on +352 27 39 53 00 to arrange a barbecue or picnic.
