The Wavestone Group and the NGO Médecins Sans Frontières Luxembourg (MSF) signed their first partnership last week.

Through the signature of this agreement, Wavestone commits to supporting the NGO with consultants and experts on missions that are essential for MSF Luxembourg.

“At Wavestone, we believe it is our responsibility to encourage our employees to ‘give back’ and share their passion, expertise and time to develop local NGOs in the country where we work,” said Alessandro Zamboni, managing partner of Wavestone Luxembourg. The group will start this partnership by helping with a cyber security project.

Expertise at the service of the community

MSF is known for its involvement in medical aid projects in conflict zones and in countries affected by endemic diseases. MSF fights against Aids, tuberculosis and covid-19.

Its Luxembourg section was created in 1986. Today, it has 26 employees whose objectives include raising awareness of humanitarian issues among the Luxembourg population and fundraising. Since 2009, MSF Luxembourg has also been committed to developing medical research in the field through LuxOR. This operational research unit aims to evaluate and improve practices regarding the organisation’s programmes and operations.

“As an NGO, we are fortunate to be able to rely on the expertise of such a large company to help us address the challenges we face. A long-term partnership with a private company is essential to improve our methods and skills,” explained Guy Berchem, president of MSF Luxembourg. Wavestone will provide consulting support to the NGO through the expertise of its employees.

Wavestone, for its part, is a consulting firm for large companies and organisations. The group has more than 3,000 employees in nine countries and regularly makes the expertise and skills of its employees available to social structures through various partnerships. Since 2006, Wavestone has been supporting the community through PowerDay, a day of international solidarity. The company has also obtained the Positive Actions label in 2021 concerning equality between men and women.
