Today is the day: users can now download the Wolt app and order from approximately 200 restaurants in Luxembourg as well as an alcohol store, an ice cream shop and a gourmet store. The selection is set to increase, however: “In the end, we would like to partner with all the restaurants in Luxembourg,” said Henrik Pankakoski, Wolt’s regional general manager, .
“Soon the company will be looking into expanding to groceries, florists, bookshops, electronic stores and baby items,” the company says in the press release announcing the launch.
For now, the territory covered by the app includes the city Centre, the Gare, Belair, Cessange, Gasperich, Bonnevoie, Hollerich, the Cloche d’Or, the Grund, Cents, Neudorf-Weimershof, Kirchberg, Weimerskirch and Limpertsberg. This area will “soon” be expanded, according to the press release.
Wolt delivery fees will run between €2.49 and €5.99, and your food or item will arrive 30-40 minutes after the order is placed, the company says. Users can track their deliveries on the app in real-time.
“Luxembourg has many diverse restaurants and shops, so we can provide a fantastic selection for the Luxembourgish customer to choose from,” says Loren Danesi, country general manager, in the press release. “Luxembourg is a prosperous market with an active business community, so there is a lot of demand for a service like ours.”
Luxembourg is the 30th country of operation for DoorDash, which acquired Wolt in 2022. The “Wolt” brand operates in 26 of those.
