The delivery platform Wolt has announced the appointment of Tomás Etcheverry as the new general manager for the company in Luxembourg. He succeeds Ludvig Helmertz, who has held the position on an interim basis since March.

Less than a year after , the delivery platform is changing management for the second time. After the , the platform , Ludvig Helmertz, to succeed her after “an amicable separation.” Wolt on 16 October announced that it has appointed Tomás Etcheverry as its new general manager for Luxembourg. He joined the company on 16 September and will focus primarily on the operational side of the business.

“Wolt is an exciting company, and it’s impossible not to have noticed its growth since they came to Luxembourg and revolutionised the delivery industry here,” said Etcheverry in a communiqué. “There are so many untapped opportunities to increase convenience for our customers, and add revenue to our restaurant and retail partners.”

Originally from Argentina, Etcheverry trained as an engineer at the Buenos Aires Institute of Technology. He has solid experience in e-commerce, notably with Oracle. More recently, he led Amazon’s international expansion from Luxembourg.

“In many ways, the energy and speed at Wolt today are reminiscent of the stories of Amazon in the early days. One example of this innovative culture is the new feature launched recently in Luxembourg called ‘double order,’” said the new general manager.

In July, Wolt was the fourth most downloaded application in the grand duchy, across all categories. The platform now faces competition from . It is therefore working to develop its offering, with extended opening hours and territorial coverage, and aggressive marketing campaigns. Today, Wolt works with some 400 establishments in the country.
