XLG on 23 January announced that it had acquired the Luxembourg facility management company Propper. This acquisition strengthens XLG’s foothold in the Luxembourg market, where it aims to become a leader in the business services sector over the next three to five years.

The XLG group, which specialises in professional cleaning, industrial maintenance and facilities management, on 23 January 2025 announced the acquisition of Propper. Previously run by , this company provides facility management services in Luxembourg and employs 300 technicians and a dozen administrative staff. To date, it also manages 98 fire stations and 30 Leclerc supermarkets in Luxembourg.

This acquisition is part of XLG’s expansion strategy, following its recent acquisition of NewCCD in Wallonia. With these two operations, the Belgian group, which aims to become “one of the leaders in the business services sector over the next three to five years,” is strengthening its presence in Belgium and Luxembourg.

Founded in 1985, this family business now employs more than 5,500 people in the two countries and offers a diversified portfolio of 37 businesses, ranging from industrial cleaning to multi-technical maintenance, roofing work and home maintenance via its subsidiary XLG Home.

“The acquisition of Propper is a key step in XLG’s development in Luxembourg. It will enable us to create significant synergies, both in terms of our businesses and our customer base, strengthening our presence and our ability to offer quality services,” said David Gaeta, regional director of XLG Luxembourg. “Together, with our teams, we will be even stronger and better able to guarantee sustainable growth for our customers and employees. This expansion will enable us to offer a broader range of services and to respond better to the specific needs of the Luxembourg market.”

As part of this integration, Propper’s offices have been transferred to XLG’s premises in Steinfort. “This strategic location will support the expansion of our activities in Luxembourg,” the group said in its press release.
