Nominations for the next Creative Young Entrepreneur Luxembourg (CYEL) competition are open until 23 September.

Entrepreneurs aged between 18 and 40 are being sought for the 16th edition of the CYEL contest, which culminates with a gala prize-giving ceremony on 1 December this year.

The purpose of the contest, organised by the Junior Chamber International of Luxembourg, is to promote and support business creativity and new enterprise or segment development and to honour the entrepreneurial spirit, the organisers say. Supporting entrepreneurship in its most challenging early stages is vital.

The contest has long received support from partners and sponsors from the public and private sectors. Head of corporates at gold sponsor BIL, Daniel Haag, says the bank is honoured to reconfirm its strong commitment to local entrepreneurship by supporting the 16th edition of the awards. “The Creative Young Entrepreneur Luxembourg initiative has shown year by year astonishing young talents that are motivated by creating a positive social impact,”  says Haag. “BIL supports the business leaders of tomorrow that can make a difference in the world.”

The deadline for applications is 23 September 2022. After an initial evaluation a short-list of teh final ten candidates will be published on 5 October.

A jury--composed of members devoted to the startup sector, business angels and service providers--will then select the three finalists, who will be honoured at the 1 December ceremony at which the 2022 CYEL winner will be announced.

The final award will be a free consultation from the competition’s partners, a cash award, access to JCI’s international network, free press releases and media exposure.

Last year’s CYEL winner, Tahereh Pazouki, the founder of mathematics programme for children Magrid, went on to award worth $5,000 and will now go to the 2022 JCI world congress in Hong Kong for the international finals.
