EFG International has named as board chair of its subsidiary EFG Bank (Luxembourg). The appointment took effect on Thursday 25 April and was announced on Friday 26 April. Maas takes over from Bernd-A. von Maltzan, who is stepping down after having held the position since April 2016.
Maas, who EFG called a “highly regarded” figure in the European banking sector, has spent a large part of his career at Credit Suisse. He has held a number of senior positions, including managing director of international private banking and CEO, as well as country dead of Credit Suisse Luxembourg.
“I am deeply honoured to take on the role of chairman of the board of EFG Bank (Luxembourg). I am committed to driving innovation, promoting sustainable practices and enhancing stakeholder value,” Maas commented in the bank’s announcement.
Alexander Classen, chairman of EFG International, said of Maas: “With his extensive professional experience and excellent reputation, he is a valuable addition to our management team in Luxembourg.” Giorgio Pradelli, CEO of EFG International, stated: “Yves’ arrival comes at a time when EFG is poised for substantial growth and new opportunities as a reliable and professional financial partner.”
