Applause for health workers are a regular occurrence, and on Wednesday bells and candles will send out a signal of solidarity.
On Monday evening even the police joined in paying their respects to medical staff by driving a siren-blaring convoy past the Kirchberg hospital. Reports of large turnouts for evening applause in Limpertsberg and of music being played from houses and apartments in Hesperange have also reached us.
So why not go out onto your balcony, lean out of the window or stand on your front lawn at 8pm and salute those on the frontline? (Our photo shows a worker at the Junglinster drive-through test centre in Junglinster on 18 March).
On Wednesday evening at 7.30pm, bells in several churches are also set to ring in honour those working to assist in the crisis. People are also being asked to place a candle in their window at the same time.
