Culture vultures will be transformed into night owls on Saturday when the southern town of Esch-sur-Alzette hosts its culture night. Here are the highlights.
Festivities kick off well before nightfall with cultural cycle tours and kite workshops in Place du Brill at 3:30pm. At 3:45pm, visitors can catch an immersive theatre performance in the Escher Theater.
Parents can take their kids to a concert at the Rockhal Garden at 5pm where the Fred Barreto Group performs blues and rock and roll. This is followed at 7:30pm by a circus-style performance on the Square Mile car park in Belval.
The Bortsch Orkestra will raise the roof of the Hall des Poches à Fonte from 9pm and from 6:30pm, visitors can take a guided tour of Belval’s preserved iron furnace.
Bicycles are a central theme of the afternoon’s activities which also include a cycle repair café and a video installation documenting the many bike tours of An American in Luxembourg Mike McQuaide.
