The annual Monodrama Festival always features a number of shows in English. This year is no different.
Featuring solo performance shows over ten days at the Banannefabrik in Bonnevoie, the Monodrama Festival is usually a fabulous showcase for writers, actors, dancers, musicians and directors.
This year’s line-up includes artists from Germany, Belgium, Congo, France, Great Britain, Lithuania, Luxembourg and Niger. The festival opens on Friday 11 June with an English-language show by Luxembourg based Lithuanian born writer and director Gintare Parulyte. Lovefool stars Luxembourg actress Leila Lallali (photo Lynn Theisen) as Grace, a young woman “hungry for affection and looking for love in the wrong places.”
Five days later Pip Utton, described as “one of the world's finest solo theatre performers” brings his witty and literary show At Home With William Shakespeare to the Banannefabrik.
And on 16 June Belgian writer, performer and director Hannah De Meyer stars in New Skin, a work that explores themes of injustice and destruction and how indignation can be a transformative force.
