Although the Cinémathèque has had to cancel its 9pm screenings to comply with the covid curfew, some of the early evening shows are well worth seeing.
The Cinémathèque has been paying tribute to Federico Fellini and this week’s programme includes three of the Italian master’s best films.
On Wednesday at 7pm, the classic “La Dolce Vita”, an episodic search for happiness and romance, starring Marcello Mastroianni and Anita Ekberg and that famous Trevi fountain scene is being screened. Watch here.
On Thursday at 6.30pm, Giulietta Masina and Anthony Quinn feature in the stylish and poetic melodrama about street artists, “La Strada”. Watch the trailer.
And on Sunday at 5pm, Marcello Mastroianni returns to the screen in “81/2” as a film director with a creative block. The film also features Anouk Aimée, Claudia Cardinale, Sandra Milo and Barbara Steele. Watch trailer.
The films are all being screened in original language with French and German subtitles.
