Cinephiles can catch two screenings of “Perfect Strangers” at Utopia, presented by the local Greek cinema club.
Directed by Thessaloniki-born Thodoris Atheridis--whose other work includes “A Bee in August” and “Lovestruck”--“Perfect Strangers” follows a group of seven friends who have met for dinner on a full moon night. They decide to play a game in which everybody places their mobile devices on the table so they can check each others’ incoming messages and calls.
Needless to say, secrets begin to surface, forcing viewers to take a hard look at just how much of our personal lives reside in our devices, our SIM cards.
“Perfect Strangers” (Τέλειοι Ξένοι), which was also screened at the 58th Thessaloniki International Film Festival in November 2017, will include English subtitles.
The two screenings take place on 24 September at 7pm and 25 September at 9pm.
