Another pre-Christmas tradition among the English-speaking community is to hear kids taking over the Breakfast Show on Ara City Radio.
Raising funds for Cancer Foundation, Ara City Radio is selling off 30-minute slots on its Breakfast Show to children. The kids get to co-host the show with Sam Steen, often with hilarious results. The young co-presenters get to choose the music, introduce the songs, be interviewed on-air and send special holiday wishes to their friends, classmates and family, and sing some holiday classics. “Sam can hold a tune in the ARA City team; but no competition, the kids always leave him standing,” jokes station manager Lisa McLean.
The special shows take place on 10 and 11 December and will be repeated on air on Christmas Day. Each child will also get a recording of their half-hour of air time.
Places are limited due to time restrictions, so best get in quick to book a fun Christmas experience for your child.
