The abbey town hosts a packed programme for its new arts festival.
Echternach has a brand new festival to carry the torch of its now defunct classical and jazz music festival. Echter Live is concentrated over four days, each with its own genre focus.
Luxembourg artists including Serge Tonnar and Lego Trip and De Läb Orchestra open the proceedings on Thursday. Friday is dedicated to jazz and features local artist Klein and also Anne Paceo.
Saturday brings a bunch of World Music artists to the town in the shape of Vieux Farka Touré, Cuban Timba band Choco y sus Cómplices and local organist Maurice Clement performing together with electronic music producer Aamar.
The festival closes on Sunday 14 July with a pop and soul programme with David Bowie collaborator Donny McCaslin and headliner Joss Stone.
