Great news for the local Horeca sector means we can all enjoy socialising in public again.
As restaurants cafés and bars reopen this week, going out for a meal and a drink is almost an obligation to support the local sector that has suffered so badly under lockdown restrictions. Hopefully many restaurants and bars, which have to impose strict social distancing rules that will restrict the number of guests they can welcome, will already be flooded with bookings.
Delano can only encourage our readers to go out and enjoy a dinner or lunch, a beer or a glass of wine, with a select group of friends (only three other people at your table if from outside your household). Our archive photo from 2017 shows Brasserie Kennedy bar staff serving a refreshing cocktail on the terrace.
But we urge you all to respect the rules and respect the staff of the establishment that you decide to visit. Their livelihood depends on us all behaving responsibly and not trying to bend the rules or demanding a special favour “just this one time”. Flouting the regulations can not only lead to fines or closure for the restaurant or bar, it can endanger the health of staff and other guests and could mean confinement regulations are reimposed. Prost!
